Q: Is the Refined Dining™ program compatible with my Microsoft Vista operating system?

A: Yes, Refined Dining™ is compatible with all Vista operating systems. When you purchase your product, you will need to follow a few instructions to ensure that you install the program correctly to use it on your Vista computer. You will need to save the program to your computer, and then Run as Administrator by right-clicking. You will need to Run as Administrator every time you run the program. Also, when printing on a Vista operating system, do not change printing preferences. Simply click print to print recipes, menus, and place cards. All of Refined Dining's™ features have been tested to ensure excellent Vista compatibility.

Q: With so many recipes and such advanced technology, will Refined Dining™ take up a lot of hard drive memory or space on my computer?

A: No. That is the beauty of this program. The icon that appears on your computer screen is simply an interface to the online software. Refined Dining™ main data is not internally stored on your computer’s hard drive, but stored on remote servers.

Q: Exactly how many recipes are available with a basic membership?

A: Refined Dining™ offers 80 highly-tested, tried & true recipes. We focus on quality not quantity, so we are continuously cooking and perfecting new recipes in our own kitchen to gradually add to the collection and bring you more delectable tastes from cuisines around the world. As a basic member, you have access to the same tested, easy to understand, and calculated recipes that advanced members have. However, advanced members can upload their own recipes for individual use, receive new recipes, and will automatically receive any enhancements as the program matures.

Q: How is Refined Dining™ different from the hundreds of other computer-based recipe software programs on the market?

A: Refined Dining™ focuses on quality and ease of preparation rather than quantity and universal serving numbers. With Refined Dining™, you can be sure that the recipe works for one person or an entire dinner party, since the online calculator automatically adapts the ingredients and the generated grocery list to fit whatever number you’re preparing for.

Q: So when I alter the number of servings and the ingredients change, what happens to the Refined Dining™ directions?

A: All of the recipe directions have been written in a manner that will work for any number of servings. Don’t be discouraged when the directions remain unchanged.
For example, if an original recipe calls for ½ teaspoon of salt and in step 3 you need to add ¼ teaspoon of salt, the direction will simply say, “add half of the kosher salt.” Therefore, even when you increase the ingredients, you will still be adding the same proportion of salt.

Q: Each recipe in the Refined Dining™ Collection provides a list of necessities to ensure I have all the necessary appliances before cooking. Will this list be altered if I increase or decrease the serving size on the program?

A: You’ll need to use your own judgment when you change serving numbers. Chances are if you triple the number of servings, you’re going to need a larger bowl or pan! And vice versa for reducing the serving number.

Q: If I get an error message when logging in, what could be the problem?

A: Since Refined Dining’s™ software is operating online, you must have a solid, continual Internet connection! A disconnected Internet connection is the most common log-in hold-up.

Q: When I search for a recipe, why does the feature sometimes not find recipes that I know exist?

A: In order for Refined Dining™ to run most efficiently, you must have Adobe Flash Player 8.0 or above. If the search feature never passes the “Searching for recipes…” message, this probably means that you do not have the Flash Player 8.0.

This problem can be solved in 2 ways.

1. You can physically click on the “Search” button each time you search for a
   recipe instead of simply clicking enter.
2. You can quickly download Adobe Flash Player 8.0 at www.adobe.com.
   

Q: How will I know when you add new recipes to the collection or if there’s been an upgrade in the program capabilities?

A: When you subscribe to Refined Dining™, you’re not just tapping into a stagnant listing of recipes, like many software programs on the market. With Refined Dining™ you are part of a dynamic resource that is continuously evolving. As a member of our community, you will receive email updates and a notification on your application alerting you to exciting new dishes and functions of Refined Dining™.

Q: Can I use Refined Dining™ on my Mac computer?

A: Not yet. Refined Dining’s™ IT team is currently working on releasing a Macintosh version for all of you Apple users, so keep checking back with us for updates.
